Colorado Rampage is Happy to Announce Grant Arnold as new Associate Coach

I grew up in Denver and played youth hockey for the Littleton Hawks, Colorado T-Birds, and Colorado Rampage, winning numerous state and regional titles along the way. However, I was never a top player as a kid and was the last player cut three years in a row when I was a Pee Wee and Bantam. This fueled my passion for competition and improvement from an early age. I vowed never to be outworked or outcompeted. At 15, I switched to forward and was later drafted as a late pick in the USHL draft after playing for the Rampage.

I played three years in the USHL from 2009 to 2012, where I won two Anderson Cups and two Clark Cups and served as assistant captain and captain. I was also a two-time winner of the Unsung Hero award.

After that, I played at the University of Denver (DU), where I was a part of the 2014 Conference Champions and a four-time tournament team participant, reaching the 2016 Frozen Four. I served as a two-time captain in my junior and senior years, becoming the only player in the last 70 years at DU to hold this honor. I was a three-time winner of the Most Inspirational award and received the 2016 Comeback Athlete of the Year and Strength and Conditioning awards.

My professional hockey career included playing in the ECHL for the Quad City Mallards during the 2016-2017 season, where I was named assistant captain halfway through my rookie season. I then served as an assistant coach for the Green Bay Gamblers from 2017 to 2018 and played in the ECHL in Florida during the 2018-2019 season.

I owe much of my success to Coach Sherman and the Rampage organization. Returning to coach where it all began is incredibly special to me. Throughout my hockey career, I surpassed many expectations by focusing on hard work and being a good teammate. For me, it's all about teamwork, continuous improvement, and actively listening to coaching. The ability to listen and implement feedback is a rare skill with endless room for growth. A quote that resonated with me during my playing days was "Respect All, Fear None." I look forward to sharing my skills and knowledge with our hockey athletes. #GoRampage
