Colorado Rampage Alumni Clayton Cosentino Named Air Force Hockey Captain for 2024/25 Season

Colorado Rampage alumnus Clayton Cosentino has been named one of the captains of the Air Force Academy hockey team for the 2024/25 season. Head coach Frank Serratore announced that Cosentino, a senior, will share captain duties with fellow senior Austin Schwartz, while juniors Mason McCormick and Holt Oliphant will serve as assistant captains.

Cosentino, originally from San Carlos, California, has been a standout player for the Air Force Falcons. A three-time academic all-conference selection, he has played in 110 games over his career, recording 73 points (23 goals, 50 assists). In the 2023/24 season, Cosentino tied for second on the team in goals and was a leader in faceoff wins, leading the nation with 594 wins and a faceoff win percentage of .592. Alongside his athletic success, he excels academically as a civil engineering major and has earned a place on the Dean's, Commandant's, and Superintendent's Lists.

Before his time at the Air Force Academy, Cosentino captained the Colorado Rampage alongside current Air Force player Jasper Lester. Together, they led the team to nationals during the 2018-2019 season, showcasing Cosentino's leadership and skill at a young age.

Cosentino’s journey from Colorado Rampage to the Air Force Academy highlights his impressive development both on and off the ice. As he enters his final collegiate season, he’s poised to lead the Falcons to success with the same determination that helped him guide his youth team to the national stage.

The Air Force Academy hockey team opens the season with a highly anticipated matchup against Arizona State on October 4-5 at the Cadet Ice Arena.
